Otakon Appearances

Tomorrow (Saturday), I'll be traveling up to Baltimore to attend the gigantic anime convention known as Otakon. If previous conventions are any indication, the Baltimore Convention Center will be overflowing with people of all ages wearing outlandish costumes.

I will be signing my book at the Borders Express in the Dealers Room at 3 PM, then giving a talk at 5 PM in Panel Room 1.

Did you wear your Ashitaka costume the whole time you were signing books? Or did the bow and arrow get in the way?

Just wanted to drop by to say I enjoyed your panel a lot on Saturday and am loving the book so far. Hope you come back to future Otakons!

Thanksgiving dinners of one type or another for more than 25 years. I do have some advice…

1. Don’t stress. It’s not a competition. It’s a dinner party.
2. My mom (who was the world’s most amazing cook) used to say that as she got older, things got simpler. Eventually she tried not to make any dishes with more than five main ingredients. Especially in a small Brooklyn kitchen (been there many times), it’s sound advice.
